Taylor Swift has faced criticism from high-profile MAGA supporters, including Donald Trump and Elon Musk, but Hillary Clinton has stepped in to show her support.

On Kara Swisher’s podcast, the former Secretary of State discussed the significance and impact of Swift’s recent endorsement of Democratic nominee Kamala Harris.

Clinton highlighted Swift’s influence, noting that the pop star’s endorsement sends a strong message and could shape public opinion. She emphasized Swift’s powerful role as a public figure who not only connects with her fans but also stands up for herself and her values.

Clinton reflected on Swift’s previous battles, such as her successful lawsuit against radio DJ David Mueller for sexual assault and her public dispute over the sale of her music rights.

Swift’s support for Harris, which she expressed in an Instagram post on September 10, came shortly after a presidential debate. The post praised Harris as a capable leader and criticized false AI-generated images that portrayed Swift as a MAGA supporter. In response, Trump declared his disdain for Swift on Truth Social, while Musk, known for his support of Trump, made a dismissive comment about her endorsement on X.

Clinton, reacting to these criticisms, suggested that Swift’s endorsement, coming at a crucial moment in the election cycle, may have heightened tensions among right-wing figures. She speculated that Swift’s success and influence, particularly among young women, might be seen as a threat to those who favor a more traditional and aggressive political stance.

The former Secretary of State also expressed her dismay over Musk’s comments, describing them as “rotten and creepy” and suggesting they reflect a broader discomfort with Swift’s public stance and success.
