Professional basketball player Jimmy Butler is involved in a child custody dispute with his ex-partner. The issue’s core is Butler’s refusal to pay for a nanny for their children, despite his significant income and shared custody arrangement.
The Miami Heat forward, 35, filed papers in court last month asking a Miami judge to slap down ex-girlfriend Kaitlin Nowak’s demand for a $10,000 monthly fee for a nanny. The NBA superstar insisted that the $55,000 he pays his former lover and mother of his children every month in child support is more than enough to meet the needs of their children, Rylee, Brayan, and Kian.

In recent weeks, however, the superstar has reached an agreement in his ongoing child custody dispute with his ex-partner, Kaitlin Nowak. The settlement terms, reached after months of legal wrangling, remain confidential but resolve disagreements over child support and the need for a nanny.
The resolution comes amidst a turbulent period for Butler. Following public criticism of the Miami Heat organization and a subsequent seven-game suspension, the All-Star forward requested a trade. The Heat are now actively listening to offers for Butler, who holds a player option for the 2025-26 season.
