Joseph Guillermo Jones II, better known by his stage name Jim Jones, has come forward to admit that he penned the lyrics for all of Cam’ron’s albums.
Jimmy Jones is an American rapper and record executive who co-founded the hip-hop group the Diplomats, commonly called Dipset, with fellow Harlem native Cam’ron in 1997.
Just as Beyoncé allegedly stopped performing her 2006 smash song, Irreplaceable, which Ne-Yo acknowledged he wrote, Keri Hilson recently revealed the person who allegedly wrote the diss track that ended her career
It is therefore not surprising that there are songwriters in Hollywood; some of them do end up seeking bragging rights.
His comment was made when he sat down for a chat on Way Up with Angela Yee. Jones said,
“I helped him write every one of his albums. Every one of his albums. From his first album up to Come Home With Me.”
He went on to add:
“I always knew how to rap; I just didn’t know how to rap well. I always knew how to do bars. Yeah, I’ve done nearly write all his music. And I commend him for figuring out how to do something else.
“They always say never bite the hand that feeds you, but he never fed me; I fed myself.”
Jones has been going in hard on his former collaborator in recent months, even challenging Cam to a boxing match.
“He’s a birdhead. He don’t want no smoke. I’ll box his head off. Where’s the ring at?” he said on The Breakfast Club.
“You’re getting money, right? $10 million right now. Today, n-gga. I’ll catch a flight wherever you at. You’re with Mayweather and ’em. $10 million. I’ll meet you in any boxing ring.”
“Now go make some jokes about that on your next show. I’ll box your head off. You know that. Don’t play with me. Now go type about that.”
Even though Cam had previously gone on an explosive rant, dissecting his history with Jones.
Cam’ron has said that he would no longer be responding publicly to his former Diplomat comrade.
