There seems to be a new star couple in America and it is none other than Jennifer Hudson and Common.
The two stars seemingly confirmed their romance in a preview of Monday’s episode of Hudson’s hit talk show on Fox, The Jennifer Hudson Show.
In a clip, Jennifer Hudson, 42, introduced Common, 51, with a rap before he came out for the segment, presenting her with a large bouquet of flowers.
“Now, we gotta get down to business, Mr. Common. I’m a host and so I have to ask you this question ’cause everybody always wanna know this — are you dating anyone?” she asked him early in their interview.
The Suicide Squad star laughed before answering that he is in fact dating someone. While he didn’t say Hudson’s name, everyone was in on the tease.
“I’m in a relationship that is with one of the most beautiful people I ever met in life,” he said. “She’s smart, she loves God, she has something real down-to-earth about her, she’s talented.”
The audience cheered and clapped as Hudson smiled and blushed. The pair then hugged and kissed on the cheek, making their relationship public for the first time.
Hudson and Common firt met in 2014 when they co-starred in the film Selma, where they played civil rights activists. They also collaborated on the song Glory, which won an Oscar for Best Original Song. They remained friends for years before sparks flew between them.
Hudson and Common are both parents to children from previous relationships. Hudson has a 12-year-old son, David Jr., with her ex-fiancé David Otunga. Common has a 24-year-old daughter, Omoye, with his ex-girlfriend Kim Jones.
