Jenifer Lewis has disclosed that while traveling through Africa, she fell off a ten-foot balcony.

When the actress appeared on The Tamron Hall Show on Friday, she disclosed that she had lost her memory for walking after falling in the Serengeti.

“In Nairobi, when they asked me to walk, you know the parallel bars? I couldn’t remember how to walk,” she told the talk show host while getting emotional. “I couldn’t remember how to put one foot. I didn’t even I couldn’t remember what to do. He said, ‘Mum, mum, you must walk here now. Come. Walk here.’ I was like, ‘How do you do that?'”

Jenifer Lewis clarified that although she found it difficult to overcome, she persisted in moving forward because she was committed to getting better. She remembered crying while seated in her wheelchair and hearing herself say, “You’ll get up.” Either you stand up and walk, or I’ll take your own life. Now stand up. Stand up. You stand up and start to move. Go on, sweetheart”. She then started to walk.

Jenifer first disclosed in a Good Morning America interview that she had fallen from the balcony. She revealed that she had stepped out onto the balcony to have a better look at the infinity pool when she abruptly fell ten feet into a dry ravine that was chock-full of sharp rocks, stones, and boulders.

Jenifer said she was shocked by what had happened and in pain. “I was hit in the right hip. The stone pressed up against my shoulder. A lightning bolt struck my mind. I didn’t realize I was falling into the darkness,” she noted.
