Jazmine Sullivan Opens Up About Her Miscarriage; Here Is What She Said

R&B singer Jazmine Sullivan has opened up about a miscarriage she experienced before her recent birthday. She provided details while responding to well-wishes via Instagram on April 10.

“Whew… thank y’all for the birthday wishes…Leading up to my birthday has been incredibly hard. I’ve been thinking about my mother and missing her more than words can say.”

“I woulda been holding my 2-month-old son that I never got to meet…So needless to say, I’ve been down bad,” the post read. Nonetheless, she thanked her followers for their love and support during the period.

“I’m also grateful that so many of you think of me and take the time to write! It’s all so beautiful!! Please continue to pray for me as I heal from life’s a** whooping,” she added.

Born on April 9, 1987, she is known for songs like Need U Bad, Fearless, Bust Your Windows, and others. She has two Grammy Awards, a Billboard Women in Music Award, and two BET Awards to her credit.

In 2021, she was nominated for the 52nd NAACP Image Awards, competing with Beyonce, H.E.R., Alicia Keys, and others in the Outstanding Female Artist category.

In 2022, Time Magazine placed her on the 100 Most Influential People list. In August 2020, the Philadelphia native announced the release of a new song titled Lost One, as she returned to music.

Jazmine released her debut studio album, Fearless, in 2008 through J Records. The songs gained recognition, including placing number six on the Billboard 200.

Her mother, Pamela, passed away in July 2023 at the age of 64, following a long battle with breast cancer. Months later, she lost her grandmother also.

Mourning the passing of her relatives at the time, she wrote: “God decided 2023 I could handle losing them both. [I don’t know why] but his plans are above me.

“What I do know is that I was blessed to have been molded and loved fiercely by these amazing women…And I am proud to continue carrying myself in the light in which they raised me! God, I thank you for my time with them! I’ll miss you grandma. Hug mommy for me.”
