Jay-Z Unsure About Headlining Super Bowl Halftime Show, Praises Usher

American rap mogul Jay-Z and entertainment executive, has revealed that he is not sure if he will ever headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show, one of the most prestigious and watched events in the world.

He said that he felt it would have been “selfish” to choose himself too early, and that he might consider it in the future.

JAY-Z made these comments during an interview with Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet of the premiere of The Book of Clarence, a documentary about the legendary musician and producer Clarence Avant, who is also JAY-Z’s mentor and friend.

JAY-Z said that he was honored to be part of the film, which celebrates Avant’s life and legacy.

When asked about the possibility of headlining the Super Bowl Halftime Show, JAY-Z said that he was not sure if he would ever do it. “I don’t know,” he said.

“I thought it would be selfish to pick myself too early, so maybe one year.” He added that he was happy with his role as the co-producer of the show, in partnership with the NFL, which he signed in 2019.

JAY-Z also expressed his admiration for Usher, who will be performing at the Super Bowl Halftime Show next month, along with Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige.
