Janet Jackson has made a comment regarding purported false information about the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party, Kamala.
Miss Jackson startled listeners, viewers, and many of her internet admirers when she reiterated that Vice President Kamala Harris is “not black”.
These remarks were delivered by the pop singer in an interview that was published by various outlets this past weekend.
In an interview to promote the current leg of her “Together Again” tour, the singer discussed her decades-long career before repeating the unfounded and disproved allegations that the Vice President is not Black.
“Well, you know what they supposedly said?” Janet Jackson asked the reporter during the interview.
She’s not black. That’s what I heard. That she’s Indian.”
The interviewer claims to have been “floored” upon hearing this, saying that the Vice President has both Black and Indian heritage.
Janet Jackson responded, “Her father’s white. That’s what I was told. I mean, I haven’t watched the news in a few days.”
She adds that she was “told” that “they discovered her father was white.”
She continued by expressing uncertainty about whether America would be prepared for a hypothetical Kamala Harris presidency, stating,
“Honestly, I don’t want to answer that because I really, truthfully, don’t know. I think either way it goes is going to be mayhem.”
Since Janet is known for using her platform to speak out against social injustice on a global scale, many of her long-standing fans expressed their dissatisfaction with her remarks on social media.
Jackson’s remarks, according to a user on the previous Twitter platform X, “just go to show you how out of touch some celebrities are.”
