Isan Elba, the daughter of actor Idris Elba was born to the actor and his first wife, make-up artist Hanne “Kim” Nørgaard.

When Norgaard became pregnant with daughter Isan, the marriage collapsed because of financial strain.

As it turned out, Isan was born on the very day her dad secured a role on The Wire – a movie role that launched him into success.

Although Idris split with Nørgaard when she was pregnant with Isan, the pair remained on good terms and co-parented their daughter, raising her throughout her childhood and teenage years.

Growing up, Isan came to know and accept that being a celebrity kid had its highs and lows – from leveraging connections to being exposed early to the entertainment industry.

Isan Elba is, however, starting to gain buzz and make a name for herself in the entertainment industry.

In 2019, she was selected as a Golden Globes Ambassador to help with the show’s proceedings.

However, Isan initially wanted to act, but she changed her mind along the way as she revealed in an interview with Glamour that being an actress is what she has been trained to be.

The film Yardie, Idris’ directorial debut, changed her perspective as she is now thinking of pursuing a career in filmmaking and also learning the ins and outs of production.

Isan Elba recently shared that she is soaking up as much advice as she can from dad Idris Elba.

She opened up about the best guidance she has received from her movie star father as she pursues an acting career, according to E! News.

“I know it’s so cliche, Isan exclusively told E! News at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Tuesday, October 15th.

She also stated that being yourself and being very intentional is one key piece of advice.

Isan concluded the interview by saying, “Do everything with intention because you leave a legacy and come from a legacy.”
