Beyoncé’s critically acclaimed album Lemonade, which was released in 2016, included a suggestion that her husband Jay-Z had cheated on her which he had to respond to on his 13th solo album 4:44.

However, Jay-Z’s new song ”I Want You Forever” has lyrics that seem to indicate that he still harbors regrets for cheating on his wife, Beyoncé.

The rapper’s new nine-minute track, “I Want You Forever”, talks about a failing relationship and it is scored in the new movie, The Book of Clarence.

Both Jay Z and Beyoncé have previously been transparent about their relationship struggles.

But this time the 54-year-old raps about a woman, saying, “I don’t want to be without you,” after leaving her partner alone at home to stay at her mother’s house. “All I want to say is I love you so much / I don’t want to be without you / I need you forever. You know I’m crazy about you, so stop playing girl. Life doesn’t taste the same without you. Tears in my champagne about you”, the song’s lyrics read.

He continues explaining he didn’t sleep in their bedroom as “the bed ain’t a bed without you.”

“You know that week you ran back to your mama’s house, ask my friend, they can vouch/slept on the couch ’cause the bed ain’t a bed without you.” Jay-Z adds he doesn’t want to end up like his parents, as his dad abandoned their family when he was younger.

“Love you for my life, and I put that on my dead,” he raps before concluding, “Can’t end up like my folks, nah.”

All of Beyoncé’s comments regarding Jay-Z’s infidelity come from her Lemonade album. Lyrics like “Can’t you see there’s no other man above you / What a wicked way to treat the girl that loves you” and “Looking at my watch, he shoulda been home / Today I regret the night I put that ring on” and “He always got them f***ing excuses” convey to listeners how Beyoncé felt about the affair.
