Fans are speculating on social media that mega-star, Beyoncé is lightening her skin after recent photos show her skin looking unusually whiter than usual.
During the global premiere of her most recent project, “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé,” on November 24, the singer rocked an “Alien Superstar” look to light up the red carpet for the US premiere.
Beyoncé wore a platinum-blond hair and a silver gown, but social media users were more drawn to her skin tone. Fans on Twitter questioned if the mega-star had bleached her skin.
Beyoncé drew a large number of celebrities to the Beverly Hills event on Friday. While Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, LaToya Luckett, Latavia Roberson, and other members of her band Destiny’s Child walked the silver carpet wearing their coziest, most extravagant outfits, Beyoncé chose to enter and exit the Samuel Goldwyn Theatre covertly.
After the photos were reposted on social media, many criticized Beyoncé’s apparent lighter skin tone and accused her of attempting to pass herself off as a white woman.
Fans then took to X, formerly known as Twitter, especially under the picture post on @FilmUpdates, to voice their concerns.
One account wrote, “Why is she shy?” and other users joined in, comparing the singer’s look to Kim Kardashian.
Another person quipped, “This Becky has good hair.”
However several other people stood up for the 42-year-old as well. One said, ‘’She is gorgeous; I can’t wait to see the movie.”
Aside from the controversy surrounding her skin tone, Beyoncé’s admirers are eager to see “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé.”
The concert documentary offers a behind-the-scenes look at her most recent Renaissance world tour, which concluded in October and will see the full project debuted on December 1 in AMC theaters.
