Boxing legend Mike Tyson says he is “bringing the devil” to the ring as he prepares to meet his opponent in an upcoming fight.

Tyson is expected to fight YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul on November 15 as Netflix attempts to grab the attention of the audience with its first live-streamed sporting event.

The curtain raisers, according to organizers, would include Katie Taylor, who will face Amanda Serrano for a lightweight title, while Mario Barrios faces Abel Ramos for the WBC welterweight title.

Although some fans have expressed concern about Mike Tyson’s age, both contestants appear battle-ready, with Tyson telling Mike to be “ready to rumble”.

“I’m bringing the devil himself [to the ring],” Tyson said on Tuesday, ahead of his fight with Paul. According to the celebrated boxer, there will be no time for friendship in the ring once the fight starts.

“There are no feelings attached…My own mother should be very careful if she has to get in the ring with me. When it’s over, it’s over. But while the process is going on, my intention is to hurt him. I hope he has the same intentions, or he is in trouble.”

Jake Paul, on the other hand, is often criticized for fighting retired boxers who have not taken on fighters like Nate Robinson and Tyron Woodley. Now, there seems to be a lot at stake in his fight with Mike Tyson.

In May this year, rapper Lil Wayne expressed support for Tyson, stating that even at 85, Tyson’s workout punches could knock out anyone.

Some supporters of Jake Paul, however, believe he could pull a surprise, predicting that if Tyson did not knock out Paul within five rounds, Paul could win the fight. The upcoming fight marks Tyson’s first professional contest since his 2005 loss to Kevin McBride, although he did participate in an exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020.
