Popular rapper, Robert Rihmeek Williams known in the world of entertainment as Meek Mill has thrown his fans in Africa into a state of excitement after hinting at a ‘second coming’ to the continent.
The Ima Boss hitmaker took to his official X account (formerly Twitter) to indicate that he was keen on visiting Africa again.
His post did not come as a surprise to many as the 36-year-old’s initial trip to Africa was considered a huge success filled with unforgettable memories.
The 2012 BET Hip Hop Award for Best Mixtape winner wrote: “I wanna go Back to Africa again!!!” on the popular social media platform and it got many people talking.
Since the rapper made the post, it has garnered some 1.4 million views, over 28,000 likes, and almost 4,000 retweets.
Many fans of the two-time Grammy nominee, especially those from Africa, expressed joy and clamored for the rapper to visit their countries on his next visit. It is however not cast in stone that the rapper would make it nor has he given any indication of the country he intends to visit.
It would be recalled that Meek Mill flew to the West African nation of Ghana in December last year for the annual Afro Nation festival.
His visit saw him having the time of his life in the country’s capital Accra as the rapper was seen riding through the principal streets on a quad bike.
The All Eyes On You crooner got to meet Ghana’s president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the seat of government. This was under the auspices of the Year of Return secretariat and the fact that Meek Mill had discovered his ancestry was 18% Ghanaian.
The trip to Ghana was not without controversy as the rapper went viral for shooting a video in Ghana’s seat of government, the Flagstaff House while rapping behind the president’s podium used to address the nation.
This video sparked outrage both locally and internationally causing the rapper to have the video taken down from social media and rendering an apology for his actions.
Meek Mill also had his iPhone stolen during his visit but the agents of the Ghana Police Service saved face as they quickly got to work and retrieved the phone.
After leaving the West African nation, the Dreams and Nightmares singer noted that he was going to visit Ghana again with his whole crew.
