Weight-loss drugs have exploded in popularity among celebrities this past year and part of the craze has been the curiosity of the public who keep wondering which personalities are on such drugs.
Oprah Winfrey, Garcelle Beauvais, Tracy Morgan, and other celebs have talked about semaglutide drugs, including Ozempic and Wegovy, and where they stand on their usage.
The drug is approved to treat type 2 diabetes and has weight loss as a prominent side effect, so it’s often prescribed as an over-the-counter drug for this reason.
It’s hard to escape the numerous Ozempic before-and-after photos on social media of people who have seen drastic results while using the medication.
And these days, whenever a celebrity appears slimmer, the Ozempic accusations follow right away.

However, there are a few celebrities who’ve spoken openly about taking weight-loss medications. Here are a few:
Oprah Winfrey
During an interview with People Magazine in December 2023, Winfrey revealed that she takes a weight-loss drug but didn’t specify which one.
But after months of speculation, Oprah Winfrey admitted to People in December 2023 that she uses a prescription medication “as a tool to manage” her weight but did not reveal the exact drug.
Tracy Morgan
Morgan surprised fans in August 2023 when he revealed during an interview on Today with Hoda and Jenna that he was using Ozempic. “No, that’s Ozempic. That’s how this weight got lost,” he said when talking about his health journey. “I went and got a prescription, and I got Ozempic. And I ain’t letting it go!”
However, in a March 2024 appearance on “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, Morgan said he gained weight on Ozempic.
Whoopi Goldberg
“I will tell you, I weighed almost 300 lbs. when I made the 2022 film Till. I had taken all those steroids; I was on all this stuff, and one of the things that’s helped me drop the weight was the Mounjaro. That’s what I used,” Goldberg noted.
Garcelle Beauvais
In June 2023, the RHOBH star shut down a Twitter user who wondered whether her “slimmed down” figure was the result of Ozempic.
“Don’t even start with that Olympic thing; I’m not playing with that!!!” Beauvais responded to the fan’s tweet.
Anthony Anderson
“I will say this: It’s creating a shortage for those of us who need the medicine that we need, not for weight loss issues but for our health.
Raven-Symoné
Raven-Symoné said in an interview with E! News, “Do what you gotta do. Just make sure you save some medication for the people that actually need it,” she added.
Charles Barkley
The former NBA star shared on his CNN show King Charles that he lost 65 pounds while taking Mounjaro. But he’s been off it for about four months and has since gained 12 pounds back.
Barkley said his doctor told him he’s now at a “good, healthy weight.” He’s hoping to go back to Mounjaro and lose another 15 pounds.
Sheryl Underwood
Sheryl Underwood joked that she is “almost a baby Kardashian” after losing 100 pounds while taking the weight loss drug Wegovy. She made the comment during an interview with the Messenger in December 2023.
