Ayra Starr had kept details of the project to herself and her team until she gave some hints this week. Her followers are mesmerised by her lineup of artistes and songs and can’t wait to stream the record, which is available for pre-save on Spotify.
Some fans say the presence of Asake and other top artistes on the album will stir up competition among the fanbase of both musicians and boost online streaming figures for the album.
On Tuesday, the Rush singer posted a picture with the initial “TYIT21,” leaving some of her fans wondering what it meant. Last month, she announced work on the new album but did not provide the title or specific dates for the launch.
The singer only disclosed her plans in a reply on X (Twitter) after a fan inquired when her new album would be ready. Her followers had since kept their fingers crossed for the album, which is now “hundred percent complete.”
While anticipating the album, admirers of Ayra (nickname Celestial Being) have been jamming with her trendy single Commas, which has set new records on Spotify.
As of May 1, 2024, Ayra Starr had reached the 165th peak position on the Global Spotify Daily Top Artistes Chart. She has garnered over 20 million monthly listeners on Spotify and stands as the first female Nigerian act to attain that height.
The official video (lyrics) for Commas reached 24 million views on YouTube, as of April 30, 2024. Commas is a happy-sounding song in which the 21-year-old sings about trusting God and making steady progress in her life and career.
