Actress and singer Halle Bailey has resorted to self-love following her recent breakup with her boyfriend. The 24-year-old and her ex-boyfriend have been together for about two years.

Bailey and her ex-boyfriend ended the love affair after welcoming their son, who is now 9 months old. The cause of the breakup was not disclosed when the Little Mermaid star spoke about the next chapter of her life in an interview.

She stated: “I think this new chapter in my life is just all about self-love and giving all that love that I pour out of myself back into myself… I feel like you have to fill yourself up to be able to love other people and beings.”

The television personality added that she was giving her son full attention because caring for a child was an essential part of motherhood.

“…My son, for example, I want to make sure I’m fully there for him… I think it’s essential to our self-worth…

“I think the best part of motherhood is knowing that you are being loved unconditionally by this beautiful being that you were given…he is a reminder to continue to love yourself and that you’re important and special because of how much he needs you,” Bailey said.

Apart from maternal duties, she also travels occasionally to cool off from work pressures and clear her mind.

“Travel is so important to me because it’s essential to my mental health….I work so much a lot of the time, and I’m a new mom—there are all these factors playing into my brain as a young woman now. And I feel like traveling really just helps me reset,” she added.

Hailey’s partner DDG, a YouTuber, stated their separation early this month, indicating that the decision “was not easy, but it was “the best path forward.”

“I cherish the time we’ve spent together and the love we’ve shared,” he stated, adding that they were still “best friends and adore each other.”

Born March 27, 2000, Halle Lynn Bailey was first known as a part of the musical duo Chloe x Halle, performing with her sister Chloe Bailey.

Their albums include The Kids Are Alright (2018) and Ungodly Hour (2020). They have both had five Grammy Award nominations. In 2023, Halle Bailey released her debut solo single Angel, which also earned a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Song.
