Atlanta rapper Gunna has addressed his ongoing relationship with Young Thug’s YSL label following accusations of betrayal.
His status within the label became a hot topic after he controversially accepted a plea deal in the YSL RICO case, securing his release from jail.
In a new Spotify documentary titled “A Day in the Life with Gunna,” he cleared the air, confirming his loyalty to YSL.
Gunna stated he is still signed to the label and continues contributing to its success. His commitment to YSL remains unwavering, despite the legal drama.
Gunna’s last two albums, A Gift & A Curse and One of Wun, were released under YSL in collaboration with 300 Entertainment, even after the plea deal. These releases underscore his ongoing partnership and dedication to the label.
Recently, he also spoke about his relationship with Young Thug, who is currently on trial for multiple racketeering charges. In an interview with XXL, Gunna maintained that their bond remains strong and unchanged, emphasizing mutual love and respect.
Meanwhile, Young Thug has not publicly commented on Gunna’s plea deal but seemed to support Lil Baby, a vocal critic. In a recent social media post, Thug cryptically endorsed Baby’s stance, fueling the speculation surrounding their relationship.
Despite being labeled a “rat” by many, Gunna has firmly denied any allegations of snitching on Young Thug. He emphasized that he has not made statements, been interviewed, cooperated, or agreed to testify against anyone involved in the case. Gunna remains adamant about staying uninvolved in the trial process.
Surprisingly, Gunna has received backing from Young Thug’s father, Jeffery Williams Sr. In an interview with radio host Infamous Sylvia, Williams Sr. defended Gunna, stating that he had not done anything to harm their case. This support from Thug’s family highlights the complex dynamics within the YSL camp.
When asked about Lil Baby’s criticism of Gunna’s plea deal, Williams Sr. dismissed Baby’s comments, asserting that he does not fully understand the situation. This defense adds another layer to the unfolding narrative of loyalty and controversy within the YSL label.
