Group Chat, a satirical sitcom written and executive produced by Black-ish creator Kenya Barris and starring and executive produced by La La Anthony and Kim Kardashian, has been given a pilot order by Hulu.

The film attempts to bring the best-selling book The Love Playbook: Rules for Love, Sex, and Happiness by Karen Hunter and La La Anthony to life through the perspectives of its protagonists.

In her book, La La provides a personal service manual for building wholesome connections and leading a happy life.

Based on their prior experiences, she offers frank views about her marriage to former NBA player Carmelo Anthony.

The actress also offers helpful guidance on topics ranging from how to navigate friendships and cultivate respect in relationships to how to attract interest in a well-known spouse.

Hulu’s official synopsis states that Group Chat will focus on “five fly, successful women in their forties who have conquered L.A. and seemingly have it all,” while also delving into some of these themes.

However, the actual drama takes place in a private group chat behind their idyllic lifestyles.

Given that Kardashian and Anthony have a long-standing friendship in real life, it is anticipated that the cast’s chemistry would feel naturally genuine.

La La has frequently appeared on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and Kim has consistently been there for her and her family.

The story will gain depth from their innate chemistry, which has also been formed by years of being in the spotlight together as the friends contribute significant on-screen expertise.

Anthony, who gained notoriety for her part in Starz’s Power, presently has recurrent parts in The Chi and BMF.

Kim, on the other hand, starred in American Horror Story: Delicate and Tyler Perry’s Temptation

Group Chat is the first project Kim is working on under the first-look deal she made with 20th Television.

As of now, Hulu has not announced a release date or full cast list for the series
