Trendy hit For My Hand released by Burna Boy & Ed Sheeran, has been certified platinum in the United Kingdom. The recognition came after the song reached 600,000 digital sales units.

The upbeat rendition stands out as one of the favourite tracks off Burna Boy’s sixth studio album, Love, Damini released in 2022. The project contained nineteen tracks, with other guest appearances including Ladysmith Black Mambazo, J Hus, Victony, Popcaan, Blxst, and Kehlani.

Burna Boy and Ed Sheeran’s seamless collaboration on the single For My Hand attracted positive reviews from listeners. The official music video released a year ago has so far generated 147 million views on YouTube.

Both artistes brought on their distinct vocals on the well-composed rhythm, which is a perfect description of an Afro-fusion rendition.

In December 2023, the Love, Damini, album was certified gold in the United Kingdom after it sold 100,000 units. In addition to the track For My Hand, the album is celebrated for other singles like Last Last, It’s Plenty, Dirty Secret, Common Person, and other selections.

As of January 19, 2024, the single Last Last one the tracks on the album Love, Damini recorded over 28 million streams on Audiomack (Africa).

Last Last has been a top selection due to its relatable lyrics, catchphrases, and soft Afrobeats rhythm. It was, therefore, not surprising that it reached No. 5 on the Billboard US Afrobeats Chart in 2022 and 2023.

The melody made the list of the top hundred songs in Sub-Saharan Africa announced by Apple Music last year and again featured on charts in other countries, receiving certifications in Canada, France, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

Burna Boy was on the long list of awardees at the 11th edition of the iHeartRadio Awards in the United States, where he was adjudged the Best African Music Artiste. In April this year, he earned an enviable spot in TIME Magazine‘s 100 Most Influential People of 2024.
