The Super Bowl countdown to the rematch between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles finally came to an end yesterday, February 9th, 2025. 

And amid the high-profile celebrity ads, what most people were looking forward to was the halftime show because there’s no Super Bowl without the legendary halftime show, which featured Grammy winner Kendrick Lamar as the headliner.

Kendrick, who recently took home five Grammys at the 67th Grammy Awards, brought his close collaborator and friend SZA out for his show, and it was a promising good night.

The Super Bowl Halftime Show has always been the talk of the game and has always had accumulated views that the main game fails to.

So will Kendrick Lamar continue the halftime show’s record-breaking broadcast watch numbers?

Even though there have been high numbers before, Kendrick Lamar ‘s Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show had 133.5 million viewers, drawing a larger audience who had tuned in to see the game in which the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 to deny them an unprecedented third straight Super Bowl.

Usher

Usher put on one of the sultry, dance-heavy shows last year alongside supporting acts like Alicia Keys, Will.i.am, Lil Jon, and more that quickly became the most viewed halftime show.

Rihanna

Rihanna broke several records that night with her career-spanning set, plus the internet when she revealed she was pregnant with her son Riot Rose amid her years-long break from music.

Rihanna’s Superbowl Halftime Show had 121 million viewers.

Katy Perry

Katy Perry kicked off her performance by roaring into the stadium on a giant mechanical lion and soared through the crowd at the end with “Firework,” with special guests Lenny Kravitz and standout Missy Elliott. The show had 118 million viewers.

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga leaped off the stage at the end of her Super Bowl Halftime Show to a record 117.5 million viewers with a collection of her major hits.

She brought the house down with a show filled with impressive drone shots, which she threw in as a loving tribute to the LGBTQ+ community.

Coldplay

Coldplay’s Super Bowl Halftime Show had some special guests, such as Beyoncé and Bruno Mars.

 The show attracted 115.5 million viewers, making it the most-watched show by a group to date.

Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars Super Bowl Halftime Show attracted an audience of 115.3 million, and he brought the funk to the XLVIII halftime, in which he was joined by his band, The Hooligans, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Madonna

Madonna’s Super Bowl Halftime Show pulled in 114 million viewers with celebrity guests like LMFAO, Nicki Minaj, Cee Lo Green, and M.I.A.

Beyoncé

Beyoncé headlining the XLVII halftime show became the most tweeted moment in history and also pulled in 110.8 million in audience viewership, with a special reunion from Destiny’s Child

The Black Eyed Peas

The Black Eyed Peas’s Super Bowl XLV halftime headlining pulled in 110.2 million in audience viewership but also became the show that received the most negative reviews despite its guest appearances from Slash and Usher.

Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake’s second appearance at the Super Bowl after his controversial appearance alongside Janet Jackson received 106.6 million in audience viewership despite receiving mixed reviews.
