The first public photo of Black Mafia Family (BMF) co-founder Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory since his release from federal prison has surfaced online, quickly spreading across social media.

The image, which began making the rounds, shows Big Meech dressed in casual black clothing with his arm around another individual.

Big Meech, who had been serving a 30-year sentence for his role in the BMF drug trafficking and money laundering operations, was recently transferred to a community confinement center in Miami.

He was released from federal prison on October 15, about three years ahead of his scheduled date, but he must complete the remainder of his sentence in a halfway house. His official release date is projected to be January 27, 2026, after which he will remain under supervised release.

Big Meech’s transfer to the Miami-based reentry center marks a significant step in his transition back into society after more than 15 years behind bars.

The BMF co-founder was originally sentenced in 2008 for leading a large-scale criminal enterprise that spanned across multiple states, dealing primarily in cocaine distribution.

Alongside his brother, Terry “Southwest T” Flenory, Meech helped build BMF into one of the most notorious crime syndicates in the United States by the early 2000s.

Despite his criminal past, Meech’s name has become legendary in Hip-Hop culture, with frequent references to him and BMF in the music of well-known artists like Jeezy and T.I. His lifestyle—marked by flashy parties, luxury cars, and high-profile celebrity connections- became urban legend. The fall of BMF, culminating in the 2005 federal raids and arrests of Meech and his brother, marked the end of an era.
