Marvel has revealed the plot details for Marvel Animation’s Black Panther spinoff series, which follows the adventures of the Hatut Zeraze throughout the history of Wakanda, dubbed ‘Eyes of Wakanda.’
In the land of Wakanda, they are the warriors who have protected Wakanda forever: the Hatut Zeraze.
This Disney+ animated MCU series is said to reveal the history of the warriors who fought to safeguard the Kingdom of Wakanda and its natural resource: vibranium, the rarest metal on Earth and the strongest substance in the universe.
While vibranium has been used to create such objects as Captain America’s shield, the body of the synthezoid Vision, Riri Williams’ Mark II Ironheart Armor, and Sam Wilson’s winged Captain America suit, the Hatut Zeraze spent centuries keeping “Isipho” (as it’s known in Xhosa) out of the hands of Wakanda’s worst enemies.
The four-episode event series from Marvel Animation “follows the adventures of brave warriors of Wakanda throughout history,” per the official synopsis.

According to ComicBook, Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios’ Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation, told the outlet about the Black Panther spinoff series, stating that,
“Eyes of Wakanda is an MCU show.“ This is the history of Wakanda as told through the War Dogs, and it is some of the best animation we’ve ever done.
Todd Harris is the creator of “Eyes of Wakanda, and it will be executive-produced by Black Panther filmmaker Ryan Coogler.
Both Coogler and Harris are well-known in the comic world.
Harris, however, is credited as a storyboard artist for Marvel Studios’ Black Panther, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and What If…
He has also directed and served as an executive producer with Winderbaum on X-Men ’97, Kevin Feige on Deadpool & Wolverine, Louis D’Esposito on Black Panther, Zinzi Coogler on Judas and the Black Messiah, and Sev Ohanian on Anthem.
Also worked with Kalia King on Sheba for Coogler’s Proximity Media, which was said to have inked its first-look deal with Disney in 2021 that includes Eyes of Wakanda, which was previously titled Kingdom of Wakanda, and the live-action Ironheart series starring Dominique Thorne.
Harris is said to have pitched the idea to Coogler and Feige during the making of 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, which featured an action sequence on the battlefields of Wakanda.
The centuries-spanning series will explore what Harris called “intersection points” from the history of the MCU.
Todd also teased that the series will travel to K’un-Lun, one of the Seven Capital Cities of Heaven and home to the legendary protectors of K’un-Lun: the immortal Iron Fist.
Eyes of Wakanda series spans hundreds of years and features the voices of Winnie Harlow from Grown-ish, Cress Williams from Black Lightning, Patricia Belcher from The Villains of Valley View, Larry Herron from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Adam Gold from Hogwarts Legacy, Lynn Whitfield from The Chi, Jacques Colimon from Fright Krewe, Jonas Xiao from The Flash, Isaac Robinson-Smith from X-Men ’97, Gary Anthony Williams from Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, Zeke Alton from Batman: Arkham Shadow, Steve Toussaint from House of the Dragon, and Anika Noni Rose from The Princess and the Frog.
Marvel’s Eyes of Wakanda will premiere on Disney+ on August 6, 2025.
