Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence’s children have announced their engagement after many years of getting to know each other.

The pair, Eric and Jasmin, disclosed the next phase of their relationship on Wednesday, November 27.

“We’re engaged!! God truly blessed us with a love that feels like destiny…We couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter,” they said in a joint post.

Eric and Jasmine have reportedly been together since 2020, and their parents have indicated they will not interfere in their love affair.

They are both the eldest of their father’s children. Eddie Murphy has nine other kids, while Martin Lawrence has two daughters.

The two Hollywood comedy legends, according to sources, have been close friends since 1999, while Jasmin and Eric have also taken after their parents in the movie industry, featuring in some movie roles.

In July, Eddie Murphy expressed his thoughts about his son dating Martin Lawrence’s daughter. During an interaction with the New York Times, he said he was happy to watch the two elderly people fall in love.

In a related conversation, he said his fellow comedian supported the romance and had high hopes for the couple’s future child.

“We just were like, ‘It’s cool.’ Yeah, it was cool. We thought it was cool,” he said during the sit-down… They’re both beautiful; they look amazing together, and it’s funny; everybody’s like, ‘What is that baby going to be funny?

“Our gene pool is just going to make this funny baby…If they ever get married and have a child, I am expecting the child to be funny,” he stated.

Eric and Jasmin confirmed their relationship in 2021 when the former confessed he was “head over heels in love.”
