50 Cent shared a touching story about Eminem’s decision to decline a highly lucrative world tour, even though it would have featured some of hip-hop’s biggest names.
The Detroit rapper prioritized his family over the opportunity, underscoring his commitment to being a present father.
During a recent interview with CBS Mornings, 50 Cent recalled proposing a joint tour with Eminem and Dr. Dre.
The concept promised massive arena shows and the chance to bring Dr. Dre on for select dates, creating what could have been one of the largest and most iconic tours in hip-hop history.
“We don’t need anything else,” 50 Cent had said, confident the collaboration would dominate global stages.
However, Eminem, who often collaborates with 50, turned down the offer, explaining that he didn’t want to miss out on his daughter Hailie Jade’s childhood.
Despite the chance to earn a fortune and share the stage with his close collaborators, Eminem expressed concerns about being away from his daughter for too long. His main reason? He didn’t want to return home to find she had grown up without him.
The decision initially left 50 Cent baffled. As a father himself, he struggled to understand why his longtime friend would pass on such an incredible opportunity.
50 Cent later understood Eminem’s stance
But it wasn’t until earlier this year, when 50 Cent attended Hailie Jade’s wedding, that he finally grasped the depth of Eminem’s reasoning.
Reflecting on the moment, 50 Cent realized the full weight of Eminem’s choice. He shared that seeing Hailie all grown up at her wedding brought everything into perspective.
In that emotional moment, 50 Cent admitted that he, too, felt a rush of emotions, shedding a tear as he recalled how Eminem’s dedication to fatherhood had shaped his decisions.
