Eminem says he is open to a collaboration with 50 Cent on a joint album, in whatever way it is needed.
On Sunday, DJ Whoo Kid shared the details of a phone call he had with Eminem on SiriusXM’S Shade 45. In response to a question from Whoo Kid as to the possibility of a collaboration between the two, Eminem retorted by saying he isn’t sure whose idea it is but he believes it would be crazy.
The Detroit native continued to react positively to the idea of the two of them forming a duo for a full-length project. “Whatever he needs from me, I’m here. That sh*t would be crazy though, an album with me and him.”
Eminem added that he has been attempting to get the G-Unit leader to record another studio album, as his fifth studio album, Animal Ambition, was released nearly a decade ago.
Collaborations between Eminem and 50 Cent date back over 20 years, as they worked together on the 8 Mile soundtrack cuts Love Me and Rap Game in 2002.
Eminem was featured on the “Patiently Waiting” and “Don’t Push Me” tracks on the Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ album, as well as “Gatman & Robbin” from 50 Cent’s sophomore album, The Massacre.
Additional collaborations included Crack A Bottle, We All Die One Day, Warrior Pt. 2, and Encore.
However, a collaboration between Eminem and 50 Cent may have to take a backseat for the foreseeable future, as the latter and his hometown are still reeling from their Detroit Lions defeat at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship on Sunday, January 28, 2024.
The Lions, who reached the NFC Championship game for the first time since 1991, blew a 17-point halftime lead over the 49ers, eventually falling 34-31 after being outscored 27-7 in the second half.
Before the start of the game, Eminem spoke on his sole focus being the Lions’ championship hopes, as the team has yet to appear in a Super Bowl in the franchise’s history.
