Baka Not Nice has revealed that Drake stopped him from responding to Kendrick Lamar’s diss in Not Like Us.
In an interview with Hot Freestyle, the OVO Sound rapper said he was ready to hit back after Kendrick referenced his criminal past in the song.
Baka, who once served as Drake’s bodyguard, said he felt angry when he heard the line and wanted to respond immediately. However, a phone call from Drake made him change his mind.
Baka said he was frustrated that people believed what Kendrick said in the track without knowing the full story. He said it felt wrong that the public supported the diss without evidence.
According to him, serious accusations like the one Kendrick made should not be taken lightly, especially when children are involved.

He also called Kendrick’s accusations “ridiculous” pic.twitter.com/3i5RE4GGXn
Drake, he said, called him and told him not to pay attention to the noise online. He added that Drake reminded him that many of the people talking were not real or didn’t know the truth. Baka said the advice helped him let go of the anger he was feeling.
He also added that people will eventually find out the truth for themselves. He said that when they do, they will see that the claims made against him were not accurate.
He added that making such accusations without proof is dangerous and unfair.
The line from Kendrick Lamar referenced Baka’s 2014 legal case in Canada. He was accused of forcing a woman into prostitution, but those charges were dropped when the woman refused to testify.
Baka later pleaded guilty to assault and a firearm-related offence and served six months in prison.
