Does Kendrick Lamar Use Ghostwriters? Here Is The Real Truth

BY JO Mensah April 15, 2024 5:00 PM EDT

Rapper Kendrick Lamar’s writing was questioned after a demo track surfaced online, sparking rumours that the acclaimed artist behind the hit song N95, had employed a ghostwriter.

The track in question, part of Lamar’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers album, was allegedly performed by CJ Francis.

A user on a popular social media platform suggested that this demo was intended as a reference for Lamar and that Francis’s contributions were not acknowledged in the song’s credits.

The claim was bolstered by a snippet of audio featuring Francis rapping to the beat of N95, mirroring the cadence and lyrics of Lamar’s version.

This led to further speculation and heated discussions among fans and critics alike. The controversy was fueled by a tweet from a user known as @ItsNotHarold, who expressed excitement over Francis’s supposed involvement with Lamar’s project, praising his talent and hinting at the significance of his contribution.

However, the narrative took a turn when CJ Francis himself addressed the allegations. In a clear and straightforward statement shared on his Instagram Stories, Francis refuted any connection to the song N95.

He emphasized that he had no role in creating or leaking the demo track, distancing himself from the ongoing controversy.

Francis’s denial has prompted a reevaluation of the situation, with many now questioning the authenticity of the initial claims.
