Doechii has responded to backlash after a video of her giving instructions to her team before the Met Gala went viral online.
The rapper was seen outside The Mark Hotel shortly before the event, where she asked for more umbrellas to hide her outfit from cameras.
In the clip, Doechii appeared frustrated and was heard demanding more cover from her assistants. The moment quickly spread on social media, with many users criticizing her tone.

Some said she was rude to her team, while others defended her, saying she was under pressure and just trying to keep her look a surprise.
The video led to mixed reactions. Some fans questioned her attitude and said she came off as demanding. Others argued that people were overreacting and that the situation was being blown out of proportion.
They pointed out how women, especially Black women, are often labeled as aggressive for being direct in stressful moments.
Doechii later addressed the situation in a TikTok video. She called the night intense and overstimulating, but also said it was a dream come true.

She praised her team’s effort and brushed off the backlash with a light-hearted tone. Without going into details, she made it clear that the moment didn’t reflect her overall attitude. She said:
“All jokes aside, this was such an overstimulating night, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. This was the night we all dreamed of, and my team killed it (umbrellas aside).”
The rapper made her Met Gala debut on May 5 in a custom Louis Vuitton look that fit the theme of ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’. Her decision to stay hidden from cameras until reaching the red carpet was part of a larger effort to make a dramatic entrance.
Other celebrities welcomed early photos, but Doechii took extra steps to protect the reveal.
This incident comes not long after she addressed industry plant rumours during her Billboard Women in Music speech.
