“Divorced Sistas – a brilliant expansion of the Sistas universe that for years has been the most watched series among Black viewers across television. We’re thrilled to launch this new series with Tyler and further expand the slate of compelling and authentic stories we deliver to our audiences,” he stated.
Last year, Tyler released the film titled The Six Triple Eight, which premiered on Netflix on December 20. The production honoured an all-black, all-female Women’s Army Corps unit deployed overseas during World War II.
It was to highlight the untold contributions of the trailblazing women and offer a glimpse into their determination and resilience amidst the harsh realities of war and discrimination.
Tyler was said to have been inspired by a meeting with Lena Derriecott King, one of the last surviving members of the all-female Army Squad called the “6888th.”
