Ed Sheeran’s third studio album Divide (÷) has exceeded 15 billion streams on Spotify, making it the second most streamed album on the platform, according to the latest figures from Spotify Data.

Sources close to the phenomenal guitarist and singer highlighted the achievement early this week and congratulated Ed Sheeran on reaching the new milestone.

Divide was released in March 2017 through Asylum Records and Atlantic Records. Castle on the Hills and Shape of You were the lead singles released before the official announcement of the project.

The album won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards, with its deluxe version becoming the most streamed album on Spotify as of March 2024.

Other achievements of the album include 672,000 copies sold in its first week, making it the fastest-selling album by a male solo artist.

It also topped charts in over 25 territories across the globe, including the United States, Canada, and Australia, and was named the best-selling album worldwide in April 2018 by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry

The fourth single from the album, Perfect, reached number one in the US, Australia, and the UK, where it became the Christmas number one of 2017. Ed Sheeran embarked on a worldwide Divide Concert Tour to promote the album from March 2017 to August 2019.

Recently, Ed Sheeran announced the beginning of another round of European trips, starting May to September 2025, on the tour dubbed “Mathematics.”

Countries including Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Belgium, Poland, Sweden, and Denmark are on his destination list, in addition to other updates to his schedule, following increasing demand.

The I Don’t Care singer previously took the ‘Mathematics’ tour to North America, Southeast Asia, the UAE, India, and Europe.

“Gonna be hitting most of the other places we haven’t been to yet, but the first dates to go up will be the rest of Europe, more to follow…See you next year. It was time to Stop, but then we can press Play,” he told his fans on Instagram.

The singer’s team said shows planned for the 2025 tour will employ “specially developed mobile digital ticketing technology” to ensure fans buy genuine tickets.
