Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ mother is casting doubt on the many allegations leveled against her son. Ms Janice Small Combs reportedly released a statement through her attorney on Sunday, defending her “imperfect” son.
“It is heartbreaking to see my son judged not for the truth, but for a narrative created out of lies…To bear witness to what seems to be like a public lynching of my son before he has had the opportunity to prove his innocence is a pain too unbearable to put into words.
“Like every human being, my son deserves to have his day in court, to share his side finally, and to prove his innocence,” Ms Combs was quoted in the statement.
Her statement comes after some 100 new allegations have been filed against her son and the existing charges brought against him.
Ms Combs also touched on the case between Diddy and her ex-girlfriend Cassie, indicating that just because her son lied at one event does not make him guilty of the remaining allegations.
“My son may not have been entirely truthful about certain things, such as denying he has ever gotten violent with an ex-girlfriend when the hotel’s surveillance showed otherwise.
“…Sometimes, the truth and a lie become so closely intertwined that it becomes terrifying to admit one part of the story, especially when that truth is outside the norm or is too complicated to be believed,” she said.
According to the singer’s mother, many of the allegations were coming from people “seeking financial gain” and not “justice.”
“These individuals saw how quickly my son’s civil legal team settled his ex-girlfriend’s lawsuit, so they believe they can receive a quick payday by falsely accusing my son.
“False allegations of sexual assault thwart true victims of sexual violence from getting the justice they deserve. To make matters worse, the federal government is now using these lies to prosecute my son.”
“…This injustice has been unbearable for our family. The worst part of this ordeal is watching my beloved son be stripped of his dignity, not for what he did, but for what people choose to believe about him,” Diddy’s added.
Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, first sued the Bad Boy founder about a year ago for rape and abuse, while he denied the allegations, the case was within 24 hours. Hotel footage subsequently emerged, indicating that the music mogul was physically assaulting Cassie.
Diddy apologized, but since then there have been many other new allegations, including sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
Last week, one of the attorneys for Sean “Diddy” Combs said he intended to file an appeal to have the embattled musician released from prison, pending his trial in court.
The founder of the ‘Bad Boys’ group is said to have already been denied bail twice. Diddy is also said to have hired a powerful legal team, as part of the effort to be released from prison while he awaits trial.
