Days after his homes in Los Angeles and Miami were raided by Homeland Security, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ team has spoken out.
The rap mogul’s attorney, Aaron Dyer has expressed concerns over what he perceives as an unjustified attack on the rapper.
The raid in Los Angeles and Miami
On Monday, March 25, federal agents raided properties owned by Diddy as part of an ongoing investigation. He faces accusations of sexual assault and sex trafficking, including allegations from his former partner Cassie, which have been settled.
A statement from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York confirmed the execution of law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and local law enforcement partners.
Footage from the scene showed several individuals in handcuffs, including Combs’ sons, Justin and Christian Combs.
Diddy was not detained despite the intense situation, . On Monday evening, he was seen cooperating with customs at an airport near his Miami Beach home.
Diddy’s lawyer criticizes raids
But the rapper’s attorney seems to disagree with the mode of the Homeland Security operation and how they executed the warrant.
In a statement, Dyer indicated the execution of search warrants at Diddy’s residences was an unnecessary display of military-level force. He also criticized the authorities for their hostility and how they treated the rapper’s children and employee
Dyer emphasized that neither the rapper nor his family members had been arrested or had their freedom of movement restricted. Dyer further argued that the ambush, coupled with a well-orchestrated media presence, has led to a hasty judgment of Diddy.
He dismissed the accusations against his client as baseless, originating from civil lawsuits, and described the situation as a witchhunt.
“This unprecedented ambush — paired with an advanced, coordinated media presence — leads to a premature rush to judgment of Mr. Combs and is nothing more than a witch hunt based on meritless accusations made in civil lawsuits. There has been no finding of criminal or civil liability with any of these allegations. Mr. Combs is innocent and will continue to fight every single day to clear his name,” he said.
