Miami Beach officials are preparing to revoke the key to the city once awarded to Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, amid escalating abuse allegations against the music mogul.

According to a report from TMZ, city leaders are finalizing the decision but are currently delayed due to Hurricane Milton’s impending arrival in Florida.

The key, presented to Diddy during the 2015 REVOLT Music Conference at the Fontainebleau hotel, will be rescinded once the storm passes. The delay, however, is being described as ‘just delaying the inevitable,’ and the revocation is expected soon.

This is not the first honor the rap mogul has lost in recent months. In June, Miami Beach revoked a 2016 proclamation that declared October 13 as ‘Sean Diddy Combs Day.’

The city’s resolution cited concerns that continuing to recognize Diddy this way no longer aligned with Miami Beach’s values of safety, community well-being, and respect. The revocation of the key to the city is considered a continuation of this reevaluation.

Over the summer, a similar situation unfolded in Diddy’s hometown of New York, where Mayor Eric Adams also revoked the artist’s key to the city.

According to reports, the New York mayor expressed deep concern over video footage showing Diddy allegedly abusing his former partner Cassie.

In a letter sent to Combs Entertainment LLC’s offices in New York and Los Angeles, Adams clarified that the key is awarded to exemplary citizens. He concluded that Diddy no longer met the standards required for such recognition.

Diddy returned the New York key on June 10, just days after receiving the official letter from Mayor Adams.
