Federal prosecutors have escalated their case against Diddy, adding two new charges to his indictment just one month before his highly anticipated trial on May 5, 2025.
The hip-hop mogul, already facing allegations of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution, now confronts a total of five criminal counts, further intensifying the legal battle ahead.

The superseding indictment, unsealed on Friday in Manhattan federal court, introduces an additional count of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion and another count of transportation to engage in prostitution.
These charges center on an unnamed individual, referred to as “Victim-2,” whom prosecutors allege Combs “recruited, enticed, harbored, transported, and maintained” to engage in commercial sex acts from 2021 to 2024.

The indictment claims Combs used coercion to compel the victim, expanding the timeline of his alleged misconduct to as recently as last year. Prosecutors also expect four accusers to testify against Combs, painting a broader picture of abuse spanning decades.
Combs, 55, has been detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since his arrest on September 16, 2024. He pleaded not guilty to the original charges and continues to deny the allegations.

His legal team issued a statement, asserting, “These are not new allegations or new accusers. These are the same individuals, former long-term girlfriends, who were involved in consensual relationships. This was their private sex life, defined by consent, not coercion.”
The defense has previously argued that videos of Combs’ so-called “Freak Offs”—elaborate sexual performances cited in the indictment—depict consensual acts, not coercion, and has demanded prosecutors release them to prove their point.

The new charges follow a series of superseding indictments, with earlier filings accusing Combs of forced labor, psychological threats, and trafficking at least three women over two decades. Prosecutors allege he leveraged his business empire, including Bad Boy Entertainment, to facilitate crimes like kidnapping, arson, and bribery, often using drugs and intimidation to control victims.

Diddy’s team has countered these claims, with lawyer Marc Agnifilo stating, “Many former employees stand by his side, prepared to attest to the dedication, hard work, and inspiration they experienced,” while accusing the government of targeting Combs unfairly due to his race.

The trial, set to unfold at the Daniel Patrick Moynihan courthouse in New York City, is expected to last at least a month, with the prosecution estimating three weeks to present its case and the defense anticipating one week.
Combs faces a potential life sentence if convicted on the racketeering charge, with a mandatory minimum of 15 years for sex trafficking. As the trial nears, the case continues to draw intense public scrutiny, fueled by dozens of civil lawsuits alleging sexual assault and misconduct, some dating back to the 1990s.
