Music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has reportedly been taken off suicide watch at New York’s Metropolitan Detention Center, where he is being held on charges that include sex trafficking, racketeering, and the transportation of prostitutes.
Combs’ legal team has confirmed that the high-profile entertainer is in strong spirits, despite the gravity of the accusations against him. His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, shared that Combs is focused on preparing for his defense and remains mentally resilient.
‘He is very strong and concentrated on the task at hand,’ Agnifilo explained in an interview.
“His state of mind is remarkably positive, and he’s fully engaged in his legal defense. This is where he finds himself for now, but he’s come to terms with it.”
Agnifilo further stated that, despite early precautionary monitoring upon Combs’ arrival at the facility, there was never any indication that his client was suicidal.
Relatives have visited Combs since his detainment, which has reportedly helped strengthen his resolve during this difficult time. In a recently aired documentary on Tubi, The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment, Agnifilo delved deeper into the artist’s current mindset, explaining that Diddy is spending ‘several hours a day’ in discussions about his case.
According to the attorney, Combs remains steadfast in his decision to go to trial, refusing to consider a plea deal. ‘He is determined to right this wrong,’ Agnifilo said, adding that this determination has given Combs a source of strength. ‘It’s fueling his confidence to get through this challenging period.’
The charges against Combs are serious, and he has already pleaded not guilty. Despite two requests for bail, including an offer to post a $50 million bond, both requests have been denied. This decision has kept the Grammy-winning artist behind bars as he awaits trial.
