Davido’s Grammy-nominated Timeless album has been rated 39th on Billboard’s Top 50 Best Albums of 2023, and he is the only Afrobeats artiste whose album made the list.

If this recognition will have any influence on the 66th Grammys scheduled for February next year, then the King of Afrobeats will have a lot more to celebrate if the votes add up well for him at the ceremony.

The multi-talented artiste released Timeless, in March 2023 as his fourth studio project, featuring top performers including Asake, The Cavemen Band, Angélique Kidjo, Fave, Musa Keys, and many others.

The Fem crooner displayed his versatility on the record, which combines Amapiano, Afrobeats, Highlife, Afropop and other genres.  With 17 tracks, the project has songs like, Over DemFor The Road and Na Money, Unavailable, and No Competition, among others.

The album blends traditional Nigerian rhythms with trending musical elements of pop and emphasizes Davido’s proficiency in working with artistes from different backgrounds.

Billboard, announcing the best albums of the year, described Timeless as “one of the best bodies of work” in Davido’s career. “Timeless is a triumph and a landmark album in the global explosion of Afrobeats,” the statement said.

Before this latest ranking by Billboard, the album had earned lots of positive feedback across streaming platforms, recently recording over 400 million streams on Spotify alone for several other records, including those on the Timeless album.

Staunch followers of the superstar, in celebrating the latest accomplishment, say, “The Grammy seems inevitable now… Timeless will surely win the Grammys.”

The single Feel has also gained impressive playback since it premiered, and the singer-songwriter has also gone ahead to introduce some live versions of the song, portraying his artistic finesse.
