Entertainer and host, Dave Chappelle, has been confirmed once against as the host of Saturday Night Live (SNL).

The icing on the cake would be the appearance of GloRilla, who would be making her first appearance on the SNL. Available details show that this be Chapelle’sfourth hosting duty and sixth overall appearance on “Saturday Night Live” this month.

Glorilla, the Memphis rapper is nominated in the Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance categories at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards. At the same awards ceremony, Chappelle’s comedy album “Dave Chappelle: The Dreamer” is nominated for Best Comedy Album. The Mark Twain Prize winner has won the category five times before, the last being in 2024 for “Dave Chappelle: What’s In A Name?”

Chappelle’s been an “SNL” favorite for years, winning an Emmy in 2017 and 2021 for hosting the show, and he last hosted the NBC variety comedy series in November 2022. The episode was notably controversial for Chappelle making alleged antisemitic remarks, just after receiving backlash from members of the transgender community for his 2022 Netflix special, “The Closer.”

In other news, Michelle Buteau didn’t hold back in her latest Netflix comedy special, “Michelle Buteau: A Buteau-ful Mind at Radio City Music Hall.”  The “Survival of the Thickest” used her platform to call out Dave Chappelle’s past controversial remarks about the transgender community.

“We can tell jokes and stories and not disparage a whole community,” Buteau declared halfway through her special, which premiered on December 31. “We can do that. We can make it funny, we just have to work at it.” The conversation turned sharp as she added, “If you guys ever run into Dave Chappelle, can you let him know that s—t? I don’t think he knows that shit. I don’t think we’ll ever run into Dave, though, because he is the GOAT, and that means going off about trans people. Dave, it’s not funny. It’s dangerous.”
