Co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records Dame Dash has disclosed that he is unable to meet the $3,000 monthly Child Support Payments obligation and is requesting a judge to reduce them because he is not earning much money these days.
Dash filed court paperwork in his custody dispute with his daughter’s mother, Rachel Roy, according to a TMZ report. The Roc-A-Fella Records top executive claimed that he could only afford to pay $428 per month because his cash flow had slowed down as a result of several failed business endeavors.
Already, he had been giving Roy $3,000 a month to take care of Tallulah, their 15-year-old daughter. Dash revealed that he only made $5,140 in total revenue in 2022 and that he never fully recovered after the pandemic in 2020.
But Dash’s baby mama, Rachel, isn’t buying his line of reasoning. Roy clarified in a court filing that he still has a share in Roc-A-Fella Records, which ought to bring in a steady income for him going forward. She also mentioned that Dash makes money from other ventures that he hasn’t disclosed to the public. The judge’s decision regarding Dash’s request and Roy’s response is however still pending.
Conversely, Dame Dash has disclosed his current financial situation. In an interview with Dr. Taje Moreno on The CEO Show in October, the 52-year-old discussed his difficulties in paying child support.
“While I’m investing in something else, I might not be making the money and the profit, so I can’t afford to pay out what I was when I was having EBITA [earnings before interest, taxes, and amortization] of $8 million a year,” he stated. “So you can’t judge how much I’m gonna pay out by how much I made 20 years ago.”
Remarkably, Dame Dash stated that he is reclaiming Roc-A-Fella in an interview with The GAUDS Show, raising questions about his ownership of the company only a few weeks ago.
“Roc-A-Fella is immortal. I just fucking took a vacation; it’s not dead. Roc-A-Fella Inc. is led by me, as Biggs and JAY-Z both acknowledge. “I’m still the CEO of Roc-A-Fella Inc.; we sold Roc-A-Fella LLC,” he stated.
