Cuba is known for its rich culture, history, and music, but also for its love of rap.
And one rapper who has a loyal fan base in the Caribbean island is 6ix9ine, the controversial and colorful artist from New York.
In a show of support and admiration for the rapper, who has been recently released after getting arrested for assault, some of his Cuban fans have decided to honor him in a unique way by erecting a statue of him in a public park.
The statue, which appears to be made of bronze, was unveiled in Cuba recently. It depicts 6ix9ine in a standing pose, holding a microphone in one hand and a stack of cash in the other. He is also wearing his signature rainbow-colored hair, tattoos, and chain.
However, not everyone is impressed by the statue, which has been widely shared on social media. Many fans and critics have pointed out that the statue does not resemble the rapper very well, and that it looks more like a caricature than a tribute.
Some have also questioned the appropriateness of the statue, given the rapper’s legal troubles and controversial image. 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, has been accused of various crimes, including sexual misconduct with a minor, assault, and gang affiliation. He has also been involved in several feuds with other rappers, such as Meek Mill, Snoop Dogg, and Lil Durk.
