Organisers of the Coachella Music Festival are to cough out $28,000 in fine after the show ended last weekend.

The damages have been attributed to artiste, Lana Del Rey, who reported performed a bit longer on stage than her allotted time.

The singer is said to have performed 13 minutes more than her specified time when she mounted the state on Friday, April 19, 2024, prompting a California city representative to trigger the fine due to the “missed cut-off point.”

According to reports, Coachella missed the “curfew time” on three nights. Observers said on Friday, the show ran over by 25 minutes and again exceeded its limit by 22 minutes on Saturday, while on Sunday, it finished just before 12:30 am.

Coachella 2024, headlined by Tyler, The Creator and Doja Cat, witnessed performances from artistes and groups including No Doubt, Blur, Ice Spice, J Balvin and Jhené Aiko.

Despite reported technical challenges, the show ended on a high note for guests and artistes, Tyla and Tems, who were the only African female performers.

American singer Billie Eilish was also among the many guests who appeared on the Coachella stage during the first weekend of the music festival in California.

She made the appearance days after announcing her new album, Hit Me Hard And Soft, which would premiere on May 17, 2024.

The What Was I Made For singer said she would not release any single ahead of the album launch but somehow gave her fans a gist of the compilation on the Coachella stage. Billie Eilish, reportedly joined Lana Del Rey on the stage on Friday night to perform exciting singles like Ocean Eyes and Video Games, before doing a preview of songs on the new album on Saturday.
