Chris Brown is being sued by a woman who claims he damaged her reputation and mental health after sharing an edited video of her with his millions of followers.

Angela Reliford filed the lawsuit on Thursday, April 24, accusing the singer of invasion of privacy and portraying her in a false light.

The video, originally posted on her social media, was later edited with dark music and text calling her a stalker. It was then reposted by Chris Brown to over 145 million people on his platform.

Reliford says the video showed her speaking about Chris’s dancers, but the edits made it look like she was threatening them.

She says the changes gave the wrong impression and made people believe she was dangerous and mentally unstable.

She filed the lawsuit without a lawyer and says the video caused serious harm to how people view her. She is asking for damages, though she did not say how much money she is seeking.

The suit claims Chris Brown did not check if the video was real or consider how much harm it could cause before sharing it. Reliford believes the post has affected both her personal life and emotional health.

“False captions suggesting that [she] had intended harm to Chris and his dancers,” she claimed in her suit.

Just days before filing the lawsuit, Reliford had posted a message thanking Chris for what she described as hidden signs that he was in love with her.

She also shared a photo of herself with the singer, taken during a paid meet-and-greet.
