Charlamagne Tha God Says Kanye West Is “Envious” Of Kendrick Lamar; Here’s Why

BY Dora Abena Dzaka February 12, 2025 9:09 AM EDT

People say Kanye West is up to his old tricks of using controversial tweets to draw attention to himself and his brands.

Just after making Grammy red carpet headlines, he went at it again with yet another series of fiery tweets that are as offensive as the first tweet that saw him getting canceled by Hollywood and losing his business deals with Adidas

However, Charlamagne Tha God thinks otherwise. The Breakfast Club host believes that Ye’s recent X rant isn’t as random as many might think.

But it has something to do with Kendrick Lamar being the talk of town and his recent entertainment success at large.

Last week, Kanye took to X to praise Adolf Hitler, call plus-size women names, call for Diddyto be freed, and declare himself a Nazi.

Even though this isn’t unlike anything he has done throughout his time in the spotlight, his recent attention-seeking Grammy red carpet appearance and the specific statements coupled with the timing have caused Charlamagne Tha God to look into the whole situation more deeply.

This doesn’t surprise some entertainment fanatics because it’s coming from someone also known to be a controversial media personality.

Charlamagne’s comment came during a discussion with his co-host on The Breakfast Club; he said:

“You know, if he wants to ride for Diddy… Nothing wrong with that; that’s on him. But we do realize Kanye has been acting out all week because he’s envious of Kendrick’s moment, right?”

His co-host Jess Hilarious then joined in and mentioned that Kanye West recently revealed that he was diagnosed with autism.

Meanwhile, Charlamagne believed that was also an attempt to get the world’s attention focused on himself, especially because Kendrick won five Grammys one night at the 67th Grammys and his performance at Super Bowl LIX.

Charlamagne Tha God added that:

“He wishes this was him, because Kendrick is having a moment for being a prolific artist who took out his number one opp, Drake.”

“Kanye wishes that was him at this moment, so he’s been doing all these antics for attention all week because he’s trying to get people to do exactly what they’re doing right now, and that’s talking about him.”
