Chance The Rapper’s wife, Kirsten Corley, has officially filed for divorce just months after the couple announced their separation in April.
According to TMZ, Corley submitted the filing earlier in December, ending their five-year marriage and a 14-year relationship.
While full details of the divorce are not yet available, sources suggest that custody arrangements, child support, and spousal support have yet to be disclosed.
The couple, who share two young daughters, Kensli and Marli, have yet to comment publicly on the specifics of the proceedings.
Chance and wife are already separated
In April, Chance and Corley shared a joint statement on Instagram, confirming their separation. They expressed that their decision to part ways was made amicably, emphasizing gratitude for the time spent together and their shared commitment to co-parenting their daughters. The couple requested privacy as they navigated the transition.
The rapper and Corley tied the knot in 2019 in a private ceremony at the Pelican Hill resort in Newport Beach, California, with close friends and family in attendance. Despite their public split, the couple’s relationship has faced challenges, including incidents that brought them into the public eye.
In 2022, Chance faced criticism after interactions with explicit content featuring trans men and women surfaced online. Corley responded to the backlash on social media, defending her husband against the trolls who had harassed him. She explained that the couple had been celebrating at an event and the situation had been blown out of proportion.
Chance made headlines again the following year when he was seen dancing with an unidentified woman at the Jamaican Carnival. This incident sparked rumors of infidelity, leading Corley to post a reflective message on social media.
