American rapper Chance The Rapper has signaled the arrival of his new mixtape, ‘Star Line’, hinting at a constellation of collaborations with music industry luminaries.

The Chicago-born artist chose a subtle yet effective method to break the news, updating his Instagram bio to reflect his current creative endeavor: working on ‘Star Line’.

The anticipation was further fueled by a teaser video on X, showcasing brief appearances by icons such as Lil Wayne, DJ Premier, and Lil Yachty, alongside Jermaine Dupri, T-Pain, Jazze Pha, and Vic Mensa. This lineup promises a mixtape that will be rich in variety and depth.

Chance did not stop there. He gave his followers a glimpse into a new track titled Buried Alive and posed a question to his audience, gauging interest for a potential music video. This interactive approach keeps his fans engaged and part of the creative process.

Since releasing his polarizing album ‘The Big Day’ in 2019, Chance has maintained a relatively low musical profile. However, he has been hinting at a new project for some time, and Star Line might just be the prelude fans have been waiting for.

Previously, Chance mentioned ‘Star Line Gallery’ as the title for his second studio album. Whether the mixtape and album are the same or separate entities remains a tantalizing mystery.

The significance of the Star Line title is rooted in history, as Chance explained in an interview. Inspired by Marcus Garvey’s Black Star Line, a shipping enterprise from the early 20th century, Chance parallels Garvey’s vision of global Black unity and his artistic journey.
