Carrie Underwood Shares Insights Of Her ‘American Idol’ Journey in Latest Production

Singer, Carrie Underwood, has provided some insights into her ‘American Idol’ journey, when she became a contestant and winner about 20 years ago.

Her latest project titled Idol To Icon appeared on YouTube on March 4, and serves as prelude to the upcoming season of the singing competition, set to premiere on March 9, 2025.

In the production, the Jesus Take the Wheel composer discussed how she felt while pursuing her dreams back in the day. She read her 2005 journal containing words of encouragement to herself.

Part of the journal read: “I just have to keep in mind that it will all be worth it and the life I’ve started will be great. Most importantly, I have to remember that this has all been my choice, and it’s something I’ve wanted ever since I was a little girl.

“I know I have some great things ahead of me. Right now, I’m just trying to live in the moment and appreciate it all.”

The country music star won the fourth cycle of the American Idol show. The competition, according to sources, would enter its 23rd season this year with Underwood as a judge.

Some fans reacted to the series, saying they looked forward to watching the show this year. A follower wrote:

“I love that you share personal parts of your life with us. I have followed you since your first audition on Idol and it has been an Incredible 20 years!! I am really looking forward to watching you judge this season.”

In January, Whoopi Goldberg defended Carrie Underwood after the singer received backlash for agreeing to perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration.

Carried explained that she had agreed to perform at the event because of her love for country and the opportunity to be part of a historic event.

Even though she did not endorse a candidate for the presidential election in November and kept her political views quiet throughout her career, she was still subjected to criticism online for associating with Trump.

Goldberg defended her saying: “People do what they do for whatever reason…I gotta stand behind that…I stand behind her.

“If I believe I have the right to make up my mind to go perform in some place, I believe they have the same right. I have to support. It doesn’t mean I’m particularly interested. I won’t be watching, but that’s just me,” she added.
