Rapper Cardi B briefly posted, then deleted, a controversial video message on X Tuesday night following early election results.

The mother of three, a vocal supporter of Kamala Harris who could not just believe the early results trickling in, threw a subtle shade at some states.

“This is why some of y’all states be getting hurricanes,” the rapper stated in the video, which featured a face-distorting filter. The post, appearing at 8:42 PM PT, was removed within minutes of its posting.

While Cardi B was not specific in her video, the Associated Press had called the election in several southern states, including Florida, Louisiana, Texas, and North Carolina, for Donald Trump.

As results continued to show Kamala Harris trailing in key swing states, Cardi B posted, “We need a hail mary.”

Cardi B on Kamala Harris’ campaign

Cardi B recently played an active role in Harris’s campaign. At a Wisconsin rally last Friday, she delivered an emotional speech supporting the candidate: “Just like Kamala Harris, I too have been the underdog,” she told supporters.

“I’ve been underestimated. My success was belittled and discredited. Women have to work 10 times harder, perform 10 times better, and still, people question how we got to the top.”

Cardi B clashes with Elon Musk

Her speech infuriated Elon Musk, who publicly endorsed Trump. The X CEO shared and criticized footage of Cardi B reading from her phone after a teleprompter malfunction.

“Another puppet who can’t even talk without being fed the words,” Musk wrote. “The Kamala campaign has no authenticity or true empathy.”

Cardi B responded personally: “I’m not a puppet Elon. I’m a daughter of two immigrant parents that had to work their ass off to provide for me!”

She continued, detailing her background: “I’m a product of welfare, I’m a product of section 8, I’m a product of poverty, and I’m a product of what happens when the system is set up against you…But you don’t know anything about that. You don’t know not one thing about the American struggle.”

She concluded her response with a pointed request: “PS fix my algorithm.”
