After Ice Spice released her first album Y2K!, the album was met with many controversies, especially with Cardi B going off after what appeared to be a shot directed at her.
In the song BB Belt, off the album, Ice Spice raps, “It was funny ’til I took her place/ Her man callin’, but I be like, ‘Who this? She may be gorgeous, but her face is changing. She falls behind like, ba**h, pick up your pace.”
Cardi B took shots at anonymous female rappers on her X account shortly after the song became popular.
“These bi**hes have absolutely lost their mind… I’m getting all my lickbacks on my album tho …ON EACH ONE OF YOU BI**HES !!!” she posted.
“These bi**hes can’t see me in numbers or status, y’all had WAY too much time to catch up. Can’t see me in money, can’t see me in real estate, fashion, and CAN’T SEE ME IN PERSON either. I’m not in a rat race with none of you bi**hes!! And ima show yall,” she added.
Ice Spice has not clarified if the “BB Belt” line in question is about Cardi B or not.
Recently, the two female rappers Cardi B and Ice Spice publicly declared that there is no bad blood between them.
When the 24-year-old Munch rapper shared pictures of them from the 2024 Vanity Fair Oscars party in March, the hip-hop artists successfully put an end to any suspicions that they would be at odds. The Whipshots creator, 31, is seen in the photos giving a peace sign while Ice leans in and makes a kissing face.
“De lo mio,” the younger musician captioned the post. Then Cardi B retweeted the pictures, adding three heart emojis.
The conversation started after influencer Raymonte Cole and the WAP singer got into a heated disagreement on public perception, colourism, and ancestry.
