Cardi B is facing legal action over an alleged unpaid rental fee for a mansion used in her ‘Like What’ music video.
The lawsuit claims the rap star and her estranged husband, Offset, failed to pay the full market rate for the luxury Beverly Hills property. The complaint, which seeks damages of $35,000, accuses the couple of renting the mansion under false pretenses, claiming the rental was for a TikTok video rather than a music shoot.
The lavish property, featured in a Logan Paul music video and previously rented by Justin Bieber, was allegedly used for an entire day without proper compensation. According to the legal filing, Cardi B and Offset reportedly acted anonymously to secure the rental at a reduced rate.
The wealthy Cardi B, however, strongly denies the accusations and insists she has evidence to prove the payment was made. She took to social media to share her side of the story, stating that she paid $10,000 in cash for the rental and additional fees when the shoot exceeded the agreed timeframe. The Bronx-born rapper also shared screenshots of communications between her and Offset to back up her claims, including proof of a $4,500 payment to the realtor involved in the transaction.
The legal dispute comes at a sensitive time for Cardi B, who recently gave birth to her third child with Offset. The couple, currently going through a divorce, welcomed a baby girl on September 7. While they have not yet revealed the child’s name, they did share a glimpse of their family time in a heartwarming video posted on social media.
