The African Giant failed to win any of his seven nominations at the ceremony. Held at Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center on October 3, it was aired on October 10.

The Nigerian Afrobeats star also lost out on Hustler of the Year to 50Cent. Lil Durk and J. Cole’s All My Life pipped Burna’s Sittin’ On Top Of The World feat 21 Savage to Best Collaboration of the Year.

Lamar, Black Sherif and other winners
Lamar emerged as the biggest winner on the night, sweeping all the four categories he was nominated for. Apart from the three he took from Burna Boy, he also won Video Director Of The Year. The last award was co-won with Dave Free.
Ghanaian sensation Black Sherif was among other notable winners on the night. He took the Best International Flow category defeating eight others.
Burna Boy Set To Feature On Lil Durk’s “All My Life” Remix With J Cole
Meanwhile, Burna Boy may have lost at BET but he is winning on the other side. The Nigerian star has landed another big collaboration. He is set to feature on the upcoming project of American rapper Lil Durk.
The American rapper recently revealed that he was joining forces with the Nigerian star and hip-hop icon J. Cole to create a remix of his hit song, All My Life, one of the songs Burna lost to at the BET awards. The news already sent waves of excitement among fans as they anticipated the tune.
Late Indian rapper Sidhu Moose Wala also inspired Burna
Earlier, Burna Boy named late Indian rapper Sidhu Moose Wala, who was assassinated in 2022 at the age of 29, as one of his creative inspirations whenever he felt exhausted, music-wise.
In an interview with BBC Radio’s 1XTRA, the 32-year-old revealed he got attracted to Moose Wala’s songs through the fans of the late rapper. After getting to know Wala, Burna was motivated to explore his own sound and push the boundaries of his craft.
