Renowned singer Brandy has disclosed that she and her former singing partner Monica would like to work together more now that they helped Ariana Grande with the reimagined version of their popular song The Boy Is Mine.
This was during the Los Angeles premiere of Disney’s Descendants: The Rise of Red movie. Brandy called the reunion in the remake version “so magical.”
“I hit [Monica] up so much talking about all the things that we could do together — tour, residency, everything. I really want that. Monica, I really want that,” Brandy stated in an interview.
“The energy between me and Monica was so beautiful. I loved working with her this time. It was so great for [Ariana] to call us up to be a part of it. She didn’t have to do that. She didn’t take anything from the original. She created a whole new song, so to call us and pay homage in that way was just such a blessing,” Brandy added.
Early in June, Ariana Grande released the music video for her rendition of The Boy Is Mine, which included an appearance from Monica and Brandy. The three women didn’t take long to make an official remix of the song.
After her younger brother Ray J showed signs of it months ago, Brandy now intends to co-headline a residency with Monica or go on tour with her.
